The study of International Relations and European Studies (IRES) is concerned with the political relations between states and various non-state actors in the international order. International issues are becoming increasingly significant, complex, and diversified. In order to grasp the significance of these contemporary problems, we need to have not only a certain degree of specialized knowledge about the geographical regions in question, but also some theoretical understanding of International Relations. International Relations at the International Burch University combines the studies of other scientific fields such as Political Science, Sociology, History, Philosophy, Law, and Business Management.
The program of the Department of International Relations and European Studies is based on a three year Bachelor Degree. In the first year, IRES students are required to attend the introduction courses such as Introduction to Political Science, Introduction to Sociology, Introduction to Economics etc to get familiar with the field of study. IRES department advisers will help students choose their first year courses. Students in the second year undergraduate programe are required to take five main courses and two elective courses offered by the department, taking into consideration that one elective is a second language.
