In a spirit of these festive days, Burch Diplomacy Club partnered with SAFE – Student Association of Faculty of Education and Humanities, to join in an action “Nijedno dijete bez paketića” organized by Humanitarian Student Association “Ruku na Srce”. BDC representatives, Mirza Tokić and Lejla Dautbašić, along with SAFE representatives, Rijad Pekaz and Kenan Ćatić raised money and donated 100 gifts to children as New Year’s presents.
In the beginning days of December, students of Burch Diplomacy Club and SAFE, collected donations in money, toys, school supplies and candies. Every day, four students in two shifts raised money and collected donations. The action lasted for two weeks, and at the end, the turnout was bigger than expected.
Many International Relations and European Studies students participated in this action. Ćatić, Dautbašić, Pekaz and Tokić later prepared and packed the presents, and delivered presents to Humanitarian Student Association “Ruku na Srce”. In total, 100 presents were made. The money left was donated to charity and the leftovers of donated items were given to “Pomozi.ba” institution to give to those in need.
“We felt the need to contribute as Burch Diplomacy Club, as a part of International Burch University, and to help those who need it the most. We exceeded our expectations and made more presents than we planned, so at the end, this action was very successful. It makes me happy to be able to make someone happy,” Tokić, commented.
It is an honour to have supported such students in their endeavours and it is important to encourage students to do good things. We are very proud of Lejla Dautbašić and Mirza Tokić, as well as many other IRES students who participated, so we congratulate them on their initiative and achievement.
